Susan McCartney

Susan McCartney, the daughter of James McCartney and Catherine Mooney, was born on November 15, 1867 in Orange, New Jersey, and died sometime between 1920 and 1930 in West Orange, New Jersey.

On June 27, 1889, at St. John's Church in Orange, New Jersey, Susan married Silas Pellington, son of John Pellington and Mary Van Orden. Silas was born about 1863 and died after 1930. He was a railroad conductor.

After their marriage, Susan and Silas moved to Pompton Township in Passaic County, New Jersey. According to the 1900 US census records, Susan and Silas had one child, but none living at the time. As far as it can be determined, this was their only child. The census record also lists Susan's younger sister Rosita as living with/visiting Susan and Silas.

After Susan McCartney Pellington's death, Silas Pellington remarried. The 1930 census shows him still living in Passaic county, but this time with a new wife and two step-daughters.
